How long do helium balloons last? The float time of a helium balloon depends heavily on the material and the environment:
Standard Latex Balloons: Typically float for 12 to 24 hours. We recommend picking these up as close to your event as possible.
Foil (Mylar) Balloons: Generally float for 3 to 7 days, sometimes longer!
Bubble Balloons/Orbz: Can float for 1 to 2 weeks. Pro-Tip: Keep balloons away from direct sunlight, sharp objects, and extreme temperature changes, as cold air causes helium to shrink and hot air causes it to expand and pop.
Do you treat your latex balloons to make them last longer? Yes! Upon request, we can treat our latex balloons with Hi-Float (a safe, liquid coating) before inflating them, which can extend their float time by several days.
Can I hire a helium cylinder for my party? Absolutely. We offer helium cylinder hire directly from our store at 276 Bay St, Brighton. This is a great option if you want to inflate balloons yourself at a venue. Please note that terms and conditions apply regarding tank return dates and deposits. Call us to reserve a tank for your weekend event!
Do you create custom balloon garlands and arches? Yes, custom balloon artistry is our specialty! Whether you need a pastel garland for a 1st birthday, a sophisticated arch for a corporate event, or a unique table topiary, our team can build it. Contact us to discuss colors, themes, and installation options.
Do you deliver balloon bouquets in Melbourne? Yes! Party Affair offers delivery across the greater Melbourne area. Because inflated balloons require special handling, delivery fees are calculated based on the distance from our Brighton store to your venue. Please contact us for a specific delivery quote.
Can I order online and pick up in-store? Yes, we offer a convenient Click & Collect service. Simply add your items to the cart, select "Pick Up" at checkout, and we will have your party supplies or inflated balloons ready for you at our Brighton store.
How quickly can you process an order? For flat (uninflated) partyware, we aim to pack and dispatch orders within 1-2 business days. For custom inflated balloon arrangements, we kindly request at least 24-48 hours' notice, though we always try to accommodate last-minute party emergencies when possible!

What is your return policy? We want you to be thrilled with your party supplies. We accept returns on unopened, unused packaged partyware within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt. Please note: For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on costumes, wigs, or inflated/custom balloon arrangements.
Do you sell items in bulk for corporate events or large parties? Yes, we cater to large events and bulk orders. If you are planning a corporate function, school event, or a massive celebration, please reach out via our "Bulk Orders Contact Us" page to discuss your specific needs and potential bulk pricing.
What kind of baking supplies do you stock? We carry a wide range of baking essentials, including cake toppers, decorative candles, cupcake cups, stands, and complete cupcake kits. Whether you are baking for a first birthday or a wedding, we have the finishing touches you need.
Can you help me choose a party theme? Definitely! We have curated collections for dozens of themes including Jungle/Safari, Princess, Space, Hawaiian Tropical, and more. Our Brighton store team can help you coordinate balloons and tableware to match any vision perfectly.
